Many other hotels and restaurants are in the hotel strip above 4 mile away. I had no problem carrying my gear from the hotel to the dive boat. If you are a diver, many of the diving boats in Aruba are docked in the Marina across the street. Ferry makes frequent trips, never had to wait long. The Marriott Renaissance is in a great location, although it is not on the beach, it has a small motor boat ferry that goes from the lobby of the hotel under the street to the their property across the way. Especially if you have children with you. The Marina Hotel is an adults only hotel, and family's are encouraged to book the property across the street, which in fact is a much better beet property for lounging by the pool(s). This Marriott is located across the street from the marina and other Marriott rooms which is partiall hotel mixed with time share rooms from the Marriott Vacation club.
